Teen Choice Awards
Traditionally, the fun of the Teen Choice Awards begins as teens across the country choose from a list of nominees. That's followed by even more feverish voting for the winners - as teens vote for their favorite music and movie stars online in such categories as Choice Actor and Actress, Choice Liplock, and more.The show awards the achievements of those in the entertainment and athletic industries with non-traditional categories.
The show gives out genuine custom-made surfboards to individual winners. A new original design is created every year. The surfboard was chosen as the award because it represents the freedom of the summer vacation for teens. Some celebrities have used them to surf (Jennifer Love Hewitt); Marlon Wayans famously said "Brothers don't surf" and in 2009, Hugh Jackman, upon winning his first one, said he was no longer the only Australian without a surfboard."
